Superb Fairywrens (Malurus cyaneus) are common in southeastern Australia, south of the Tropic of Capricorn through eastern Australia and Tasmania to the south-eastern corner of South Australia.   Males are black and blue in breeding season with a black beak, the younger ones reverting to brown eclipse plumage over winter.   Females are brown with an orange patch around the eye and orange beak.  Males can sometimes be seen presenting a yellow flower in an attempt to woo the ladies.
