The green rosella (Platycercus caledonicus) is the largest member of the rosella family and is found only in Tasmania and the Bass Strait islands. These vibrant parrots are a kaleidoscope of colour - sporting yellow underparts, a red forehead, violet-blue cheeks, and mottled green and black backs. Despite their vivid plumage, juveniles are mostly green, blending well into foliage until they mature.
